Warner Bros. Pictures has premiered the full-length trailer for the sequel to 2019’s “Joker” starring Joaquin Phoenix. Now with Lady Gaga added as the co-star, it’s time to finally take a look at “Joker: Folie a Deux”.
Phoenix returns as Arthur Fleck in a story that is set inside Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum and will feature musical elements, it was originally slated as a full-blown musical, but this seems to have been toned down.
“Joker: Folie À Deux” finds Arthur Fleck institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that’s always been inside him.
The film also stars Oscar nominees Brendan Gleeson (“The Banshees of Inisherin”) and Catherine Keener (“Get Out,” “Capote”), alongside Zazie Beetz, reprising her role from “Joker.”
A Film by Todd Phillips, “Joker: Folie À Deux” will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, and will be in theatres at the beginning of October 2024.
