We’re forecast to see very hazardous fire weather conditions today in the Riverland.
A Total Fire Ban is in place today (28/2) with both the Riverland and Murraylands fire districts having an Extreme fire danger rating.
Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Extreme, only well prepared, well-constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire.
Renmark is forecast for a top of 45 degrees, which would be the warmest February day since 2017. We’re also warned there’s a chance of raised dust during this afternoon and evening.
The CFS has recommended locals implement bushfire survival plans and stay informed.
Over the border in Victoria, the CFA has also issued a Total Fire Ban today for the Mallee fire district.
