More water is expected to flow to South Australia via the River Murray this week.

The Department is forecasting flows to hit 14 Gigalitres per day by Friday, which is around 4GL/day higher than what was recorded in recent days.

Flows over the border includes the full October Entitlement Flow (5.5 GL/day), along with water for the environment, interstate trade adjustments and adjustment for deferred entitlement flows.

SA’s Department of Environment and Water (DEW) say deferred flows are stored and accumulated for critical human water needs during dry periods.

Flows at Blanchetown’s lock one are also set to increase, possibly as high as 11gigalitres per day by Friday.
