A total of 10 candidates have nominated for the local seat of Barker at the upcoming Federal Election.
Following the deadline for nominations late last week, the list was revealed Friday seeing some familiar names, together with first time nominees.
The 10 candidates set a new record for the local seat, which in 2022 had 9 challengers and previously had between 5 & 6 nominations.
Tony Pasin returns for the Liberal Party after holding the seat since 2013, while Jonathan Pietzsch returns for another crack representing the National Party.
Previous Greens candidate Rosa Hillam is back, this time as an Independent, with Ian Penno and Cody Scholes also vying for the seat without a political party.
James Rothe will step up for Labor, whilst the Greens have announced Major ‘Moogy’ Sumner as their candidate.
Others challenging, include Jennifer Troeth from Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, Robert Jameson from the Trumpet of Patriots together with Family First’s Micheal Brohier.
Early voting is due to commence next week in Renmark, with the Election Day set for the 3rd of May.
