As the Mid Murray Council continues their cost cutting crusade, a new Deputy Mayor has been appointed.
Murray Ward Councillor Geoff Barber was appointed Deputy Mayor at councils November meeting, replacing Councillor Kirsty MacGregor, who served in the position over the past year.
Mid Murray Mayor Simone Bailey welcomed Deputy Mayor Barber to the role, saying “Geoff is a dedicated Elected Member who is passionate about representing the needs and views of not only Murray Ward but the entire Mid Murray district,”.
Deputy Mayor Barber said he was looking forward to working alongside Mayor Bailey and getting out and about across our district to continue building those connections over the coming year.
Just recently Council made the call not to open one of their pools this summer, said to save council $32,000.
