Kade’s the best for local footy

Waikerie Footballer Kade Hilton has joined an elite club, after winning the Riverland Football League’s highest individual award – The Whillas Medal.

Hilton polled 20 votes for the season, just three votes ahead of runner up & two-time Whillas Medalist Tim Woolford from Renmark.

At age 19, Hilton is the 3rd youngest winner in the 100 years of the award, and just the 16th winner from the Waikerie Football Club.

Speaking on the night, Hilton thanked his team mates, adding further he had enjoyed his return season at Waikerie.

Hilton also reflected on the season as a whole saying that while it was disappointing not to make the Grand Final, Waikerie’s season on the whole had a lot of positives.
