Further NBN upgrades

More local homes and businesses might be able to access faster broadband, following progressive upgrades to the National Broadband Network’s fixed wireless network.

The upgrades are part of a $750 million investment which is made up of $480 million from the federal government and around $270 million from NBN.

Chief Development Officer for Regional and Remote at NBN Co, Gavin Williams, says it will involve a range of hardware and software upgrades to help deliver the increased speeds.

As it sits today there is currently 71,000 homes and businesses across South Australia that are in NBN’s fixed wireless footprint.
