As the wine grape harvest comes to a close, wine producers selling bottles into Queensland will soon be hit with further costs.
From November deposits will apply on wine bottles sold in Queensland, estimated to cost over $16M each year to the SA wine industry.
Each year, over 63 Million wine bottles of wine from SA are sold into Queensland, with that state set to be the first to run a container deposit scheme for wine bottles.
