There’s renewed concerns for some Mid Murray communities now over a year on from River Murray Flooding.
Both of Blanchetown’s caravan parks remain closed following flooding over the 2022/23 summer, with the visitor economy said to be very important for the small community.
Speaking to the Advertiser this week, Mid Murray Mayor, Simone Bailey said the reduction in visitors, combined with the loss of many properties had been a significant challenge.

Council is said to be hopeful the parks can re-open at some stage, with the site at Swan Reach also closed for over a year.
