Clean-up at major intersection

The impacts of chemical spill in Barmera were thankfully limited yesterday, thanks to a swift response from emergency services.

Around 7.45am Tuesday, a trailer carrying flooring chemicals turned over at the Sturt Highway & Old Sturt Highway Roundabout.  

CFS crews were quickly on scene and were able to contain the spill by constructing a dirt mound.

Fortunately, the driver of the vehicle was unharmed and authorities have said the spill presented no danger to the public.

Traffic delays were in place for some time.
