Carp Frenzy success

Saturday’s SA Carp Frenzy in Barmera once again saw strong participation.

Over 1000 anglers took to Lake Bonney to try their luck, with over four tonnes of Carp caught during the event.

Since their introduction to the River Murray system, Carp have seen as a major pest and responsible for many ecological issues.

While not as many as 2024 entry numbers, this year’s event was still the second largest in the events history which dates back to 2013.

Some of the fish caught were quite the size according to event officials, with the largest being recorded at 78cm.

The date for next year’s SA Carp Frenzy has also now been locked in for the 28th of February.
