The financially stretched Mid Murray Council has revealed a budget reprieve.
Council’s December budget review outlined a new budget position following funding for flood recovery being reimbursed.
The River Murray flood, now two years on still sees Council rebuilding, with a significant review of services undertaken recently.
The budget review that was adopted at this month’s meeting of Council outlined a new net operating surplus of $2.66M, with borrowings down by over $3M ,now forecast to be $9.172M by the end of the year.
Meanwhile Council’s supplementary election for the Schearer ward is entering the next phase, with voting materials now being sent out.
