A lifetime of dedication to the community has seen Berri’s John Fewster named the Berri Barmera 2025 Citizen of the year.
Through the years, Mr Fewster has been involved in many community groups, with including Scouts, Berri Hockey Club, St Vincent de Paul Society, Berri Senior Citizens’ Club, Meals on Wheels and the Riverland Christmas Appeal.
Barmera’s Jemma Kassulke was named Young Citizen of the year, while the Barmera Yarn Bombing event in August was named the event of the year.
Finally the Building a Better Community Award was presented to the Berri Blazers’ Inclusive Basketball Program.
Berri Barmera Mayor, Ella Winnall said “We are very fortunate to have so many people doing great things in our community,”.
Winners of the 2025 Citizen of the Year Awards will be officially awarded at the community breakfast in Barmera on Sunday, January 26.
