There’s fresh calls more CFS volunteers are needed through the Riverland.
While the MFS operates through major Riverland towns, the CFS have 10 brigades through the region and is a vital service to many smaller and farming communities.
CFS Region three commander, Shane Clinch said that brigages through the Riverland were reliant on support from the community.
Lyrup’s CFS brigade continues to be one location needing more volunteers, which saw a community meeting held last year.
Mr Clinch said that while the Lyrup brigade had a number of long term dedicated volunteers, new members were needed to ensure the brigade remained strong.
