The path appears now clear for two of the nation’s largest wine producers to become one company.
The ACCC announced last week they would not oppose the proposed acquisition of Pernod Ricard Winemakers by Australian Wine HoldCo Limited, through its subsidiary Accolade.
Accolade Wines currently operate the Berri Estates Winery, and had been previously linked with other wine producers prior to the Pernod Ricard deal surfaced in July.
The proposed deal relates to the Pernod Ricard Winemakers’ BrandCo division, which owns and manages a portfolio of Australian, New Zealand and Spanish wine brands.
Subject to closing conditions, it’s been hinted the deal could be completed in the second half of 2025.
